Terms & Conditions
1. Booking and Payment
1.1. All bookings must be made in advance and confirmed with full payment of the hire fee.
1.2. Payment is required at the time of booking to secure your hire period.
2. Hire Period
2.1. The standard hire period is agreed at the time of booking (e.g., 4, 6, or 8 weeks).
2.2. Extensions beyond the agreed hire period must be requested before the original return date and may incur additional fees.
3. Collection & Return
3.1. The birth sling and all accessories remain the property of the provider at all times.
3.2. The hirer is responsible for collecting or receiving the sling and returning it by the agreed return date.
3.3. Late returns may incur additional hire charges at the provider’s standard daily/weekly rate.
3.4. All items must be returned in the same condition as received, except for normal wear and tear. Any damage beyond normal wear will incur repair or replacement costs charged to the hirer.
4. What’s Included
4.1. Your hire includes:
1 × birth sling
2 × arm slings
1 × door anchor (or beam/branch anchor as agreed)
1 x ceiling anchor
1 × carry/storage bag
5. Use, Safety & Risk
5.1. The birth sling is provided for positional support during labour only.
5.2. Use of the birth sling is at the hirer’s own risk. The provider is not liable for any injury, loss, damage, or adverse outcomes arising from the use of the sling, including but not limited to physical injury to the birthing person or baby, whether in a hospital, birth centre, home, or other setting.
5.3. The sling must be used in accordance with the instructions provided. Any misuse, unsafe setup, or unauthorised alterations may void these terms and result in additional charges.
5.4. The hirer agrees to consult with a registered care provider (midwife, doctor, obstetrician) before using the birth sling and to follow their professional advice.
6. Responsibility & Liability
6.1. The hirer assumes full responsibility for all risks associated with use of the birth sling during the hire period.
6.2. The provider is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of the birth sling.
6.3. The hirer indemnifies and holds the provider harmless from all claims, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from the hirer’s use of the sling, including legal costs.
7. Damage, Loss & Cleaning
7.1. The sling and accessories must be returned clean and in original condition.
7.2. Any damage beyond normal wear, loss, or missing parts will be charged to the hirer at repair or replacement cost.
7.3. If bodily fluids require special cleaning, additional cleaning fees may apply.
8. Cancellations & Refunds
8.1. If the sling has not been posted or collected, cancellations may be made at any time with a refund of the hire fee minus a $15 administration charge.
8.2. Once the sling has been dispatched or collected, no refunds will be provided, regardless of whether the sling is used.
9. Governing Law
9.1. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the state or territory in which the provider operates. Any disputes will be resolved under that jurisdiction.
10. Acceptance
10.1. By booking and paying for birth sling hire, the hirer acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by all Terms & Conditions above.
